Cookies

Sugary, buttery cookies are one of our favourite baked indulgences here at OV. They come in a variety of sizes with lots of different recipes, tastes and inclusions, from zesty fruit flavours to classic chocolate chips.

COOKIES THROUGH THE AGES

Cookies and biscuits can be traced back a long way through history. It’s thought that the Persians were first growing sugar cane and using it for baked goods as far back as the 7th Century AD and biscuits were a well-known treat in 14th century Europe.

In 1792 the first cookbook published in America included cookie recipes, whilst the chocolate chip cookie was invented in Massachusetts in 1937.

The name cookie comes from the Dutch koejke, meaning ‘little cake’. It hails from the time when the Dutch had a colony in the USA called New Amsterdam. When the English took control of the area (renaming it New York) the name of this sweet treat became anglicised to ‘cookie – the word we know today.

There are lots of products in the OV range you can use to add pep to your cookies.

CHOCOLATE INCLUSIONS

Bake in milk chocolate chunks to create a classic chocolate chip cookie. Try dark chocolate chunks for a more sophisticated flavour, or add a splash of fun and sweetshop colour by mixing in vibrant chocolate beans, featuring milk chocolate centres and a sugar shell that will stay intact in your cookie.

CARAMEL INCLUSIONS

For an indulgent burst of sweetness, fold our buttery caramel fudge or tasty kreme caramel cubes into your mixture. Both these products are suitable to bake into cookies and other products.
